We would love to share with you the true meaning of “Live” in relation to the products we create. Our oils are crafted from just one single ingredient, either a nut or a seed. A raw seed has the potential to sprout and grow, giving life to another seed—it’s quite magical! However, if heated to 100°F, it can no longer regrow, losing its original benefits, including essential vitamins and minerals. The natural protein present in the seed or nut is also damaged, as it cannot withstand heat over 100°F. The current oil industry often relies on metallic presses and heat to maximize oil yield. Processes such as “extra virgin” oil extraction or “cold-pressing” typically involve applying heat, often around 200°F. It’s crucial to note that the protein in such oils becomes inactive due to denaturation.
